Dear All,
there is one good tool for sql server which works for almost every aspect. the specialty is it automatically re writes the select statements with a good tuning. are there any other tools which will automatically rewrite the queries?

Yes. There is. But it is not cheap. Check out pesoquery or visaexpress. These two covers most of the aspect on SQL Server. For specific area like DBA related, try taradba. Or if you are looking for something with extra punch, try Aikispirit version 1.

One word of warning, don't go for khton. It is a bloatware and weigths a ton if you got what i mean. I have used it personally and had very bad experience with it. It's slow, and most of the time, the rewritten query does not work at all. It required lots of resources and you have to upgrade your PC just to be able to run that. Not to mention the constant installation of add-ins like fodo and bere.

I'm talking about ordinary tools not extraordinary.

I've been using TOAD for sql server for the past week and it's growing on me. I know it has Query tuning functionality, but I haven't used it yet.

such a tool would be very difficult it not impossible to write. writing good code requires creativity, inspiration, and experience. it's craftsmanship. non-trivial to put that into a program.

maybe someday someone will do it and then we'll all have to find other work.
