Hi there,

I have been asked to generate a request for a new certificate for an asp.net application. The old certificate has expired.I have no idea who the issuer is and how to find that out .
Can someone help step by step where to look at?
Thanks in advance

You need to know who the issuer is, as the instructions of generating the requests are different.

If you have access to the server, to to IIS snap, right click the domain you want and click on directory security and under secure communication click on VIEW CERTIFICATE.

This would show you who the issuer is. Then to generate the request, go the issuers website and follow the instructions

Hope this helps

If you dont have access to the machine, you cant generate the certificate request.

However you could always.
1. Ask your hosting provider to do so for you
2. add the "s" to https:// instead of http:// to your domain and double click the security icon, which is usually a padlock and the name of the issuing authority should be there and type of certificate it is

:-)
