My objective is to tell SQL Server to trigger this notification when a scheduled job fails. Like if I am out of the office, I need to be advised by this SQL notification that a scheduled job or task has not been completed for some reasons encountered by the SQL server.

Pls tell me how to do it and I hope you can send me the answer as soon as possible."

Anyone have any thoughts here? I think SQL Server will only deal with MAPI compliant messaging applications. Could you use XP_CMDSHELL to launch a command line program to send a mail message?
