So, I started working my 2nd job here at this company back in January. The stock prices then were around $120/each. I've watched the prices steadily climb until Monday (6/30/08), when they hit $192. My boss retired Monday...and stocks have plummeted to $152!!No, the fall wasn't caused by my boss retiring...but if I see her again, I'm gonna give her a hard time about how the company went to hell after she left ;)Anyway, that was just a random rant I had to post. Are any of you active traders in the stock market? If so, any interesting/random things you want to point out?__________SQL Newbie |

invest into small to medium oil service provider companies. the ones that offer equipment that pumps oil.they're bound to skyrocket.also gold and platinum are always a good bet._______________________________________________Causing trouble since 1980Blog: http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/mladenpSpeed up SSMS development: www.ssmstoolspack.com <- version 1.0 out! |

Yeah, if you have shares in your company, you've made a fair bit since Jan. |

Nah, I don't own a single share. I'd rather not invest where I work...don't feel like somehow getting accused of insider trading.__________SQL Newbie |

Fortune 500 company...steel industry. Yeeeah, this has been the greatest time for them...ever. I think 2009 will see a decline, though.__________SQL Newbie |

If you're not a trader, then you can't get accused of insider trading. Loads of companies have employee share schemes. |

Good point, Rick. I'm honestly not much of a stock market person...I know just about zilch when it comes to that.Doesn't help that I am a wee bit of a penny pincher (except when it comes to my computer! but that's an investment to me...).__________SQL Newbie |
