Oracle 8 has a feature called DBLink that appears to be their way of creating a Linked Server. But I'm having trouble using it to link to a SQL Server. Anyone familiar with this process? Does SQL*NET have to be installed on the SQL Server box? Hints? Tips?

(I still haven't found an Oracle forum that comes anywhere near the quality and responsiveness of SQLTeam. )

I am not familiar with the process but here are a few articles describing Oracle Heterogeneous services linked to SQL Server.
Hope these help.

ehorn, thanks. Those first two were virtually useless to me (the first one is actually about how to go the other direction, which is easy enough). But the third looks like it might help.

If anyone has any successful personal experiences they want to share, I'd love to hear them.
