| How about marking the threads which the user has participated in?I don't look at threads with lots of responses unless I've given a comment and often can't remember which ones they are.have a look at www.tek-tips.com - they put a big tick beside the threads.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |

| Sorry Graz, can't keep this suggestion outta my head:Is it difficult to change css and html references using color navyblue to #9FAFDF to benefit Netscape 7.0 users ?This chart shows NS 7 renders no color for navyblue. Viewed with IE, navyblue renders fine. Some tables on this site then are illegible using NS 7. |

I think it actually made things faster. The original query was written using the old-style join syntax (all joins in the where clause) with some "interesting" joins. Rewriting the query and adding the extra join to the reply table is faster than the original query. I'm a sucker for the tabbed interface (which isn't unique to NS 7). The Gecko engine does a great job rendering CSS-P . So much so, I use NS 7 to validate page layout and format.It may be time to switch, but not to IE, I've got to have tabs. |

| When you say that you like the tabbed interface, are you talking about how many(most) browsers, other than IE have the new pages open in MDI-Child type interface. Unlike IE that opens a whole new instance for each window? I have been hearing more and more about that, and it seems like it would be way better for performance to do it that way. Wonder when/if MS will ever get around to incorporating it?I hear you on the Netscape thing. Luckily, the place I currently work is pretty much just IE, so I don't have to worry much at all about the issues. The last place though, we had some clients who mandated compatibility with AOL 5 or 6. Talk about painful, there were times where just plain HTML wouldn't render correctly, forget about Cookies or anything more sofisticated than that. I haven't really paid too much attention to NS development in the past year or so, but I am wondering if they have improved the rendering speed at all?Shannon |
