If you set up transactional log, you can restore till crash else you will be losing the data from 8PM till 9PM. |

In the restoring process, first take the tail log backup. If the log file and the data file are there in two separate disks in the hard drive or in any sought of external media. Then even the crach will be recorded in the log.so now to restore...1.take the tail log backup(take log backup)2.Then first restore the full backup3.then restore the differential backup taken at 8pm.(because,each diff backup will be storing the details from last full backup to the present time)3.now restore the tail log backup which was taken in the beginning of restore process.now not even a single data modification will be lost.-- Thanks and RegardsSrikar Reddy Gondesi,BTECH-IT 2013 Passed Out,Trainee for SQL Server Administration,Miracle Software systems, Inc. |
