I have an issue with permissions on a tableRole a must be able to insert, delete, update and select from the tableRole b must not be able to update (a specific colum) Some users are members of role a and b. These users should be able to update Now the permission is denied for these users.how can I fix this? |

If you have a DENY on the update in Role B, this will supercede any rights a User may have been given in Role A. DENY is fundamentally of higher precedence than GRANT. You'll need to take these Users out of Role B.It sounds like there are some rights GRANTed in Role B that you do want the AB Users to have. Perhaps the approach is to split the GRANTs off into a new role (B-Prime?), place the AB users into this role and make one role a member of the other role.=================================================It is not so much our friends' help that helps us as the confident knowledge that they will help us. -Epicurus, philosopher (c. 341-270 BCE) |
