Hi guys,

I'am building up two new SQL Servers 2008 R2.
2x Quad Core CPU with 3xRaid10, 288GB RAM , 1gbit NIC and so on. There should be enough power to provide and recieve data.

I created a linked server between the servers and tested the datatransfer with a simple "Select * Into ..." from a 3GB table.

I am wondering why the Network bandwith of 1 gbit is only used by 10/15 %.

Using 3 parallel Querys will result in about 40% bandwith usage.
I would expect SQL Server to limit the bandwith.

What is the reason for this limitation? Is it adjustable?

Hi

the SQL Servers run on two dedicated Servers (machines).
