Whether learning SQL Server is hard or not depends mostly on whether you enjoy it or not. Since you already have some basic understanding of SQL 2008, ask yourself how you feel diving deeper into it? Do you get excited about all the new features that they are offering in SQL 2012? Are you eager to learn those new things? Do you get a tinge of pleasure when you fire up SQL Server Management Studio in the morning? If you answered yes to those or similar questions, then you would do just fine and probably would excel. On the other hand, if you get a sense of relief when you shut down SSMS in the evening when you are getting ready to leave work, I would worry about trying to make a career out of it.Russell, yer bad! |
