Dear All,Due to many reason I had to upgrade my current SQL version to a latest version, I have tried with 2 SP Files but both times I have ended up getting an error messages as below “ The version of SQL Server instance Shared Component does not match the version expected by the SQL Server update. The installed SQL Server product version is 10.50.1600.1, and the expected SQL Server version is 10.0.1600.22” Highly appreciate if you could provide a link for the proper latest available version for downloading, and upgrade my current version, I did googled myself for the SP version for 10.0.1600.22 with no luck !! this forum is my last step and I would like to have an update from any of you techy savvy's please Regards |

If I'm reading your error message correctly, you have SQL 2008 R2 installed but are trying to apply a non-R2 service pack. Even though both are called "SQL 2008" they are really distinct products and their service packs don't apply to each other. Here is a link to a list of SPs and CUs: http://www.sqlteam.com/article/sql-server-versionsBon appetit!=================================================Men shout to avoid listening to one another. -Miguel de Unamuno |
