2 Node Cluster -One Node Not Owner Of SQL Resource

Hi,

I am running
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 (X64)
on

Windows Server 2008 R2
Service Pack 1

Both nodes are owners of everything besides SQL Server and the SQL Server Agent.

When I right click on the properties of these 2 and go to the advanced Policies tab. It shows only one node listed instead of the two nodes. How can I add my second node so that I can failover my cluster? This is so frustrating why this node would even fall off from being an owner of these SQL resources. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you run the installation on the second node? With SQL 2005, you didn't have to do that. But with SQL 2008 you do. You have to specify the option to add another node to your failover cluster in the setup for SQL 2008.

The cluster was built and working fine. In order to setup the cluster it had to run through the checklist. Both nodes had 100% control of all resources. All of a sudden now Node 2 isnt an owner of the SQL application. How can I add node 2 to be an owner?

You would do that through Failover Cluster Management. Add the node back in and see if you can failover to it.
