i install sql server 208 express and the problem is that in the middle of the installing it says :"Another version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 has been detected on this system that must be updated to SP1. Please update all Visual Studio 2008 installations to SP1 level, by visiting Microsoft Update." and beacuse of this problem can't install the management and tools for sql server. |

my visual studio is up to date. i just install vs 2011. i check for updates and there is any update in windows update.thank you |

I had VS 2003 VS 2008 and VS 2010 on My computer when I did the same thing. I had to uninstall, VS 2008 and reinstall after I was done with the entire SQL Server install. It was fine then. I didn't try johntech's approach though. |
