I have a database from MS SQL 6.5 that I would like to read in 2008 and ideally, to convert to Excel or XML format. What is the best way to achieve this?Tom Mc Carrick |

You cannot upgrade from 6.5 to 2008 directly. You could upgrade a 6.5 instance to SQL 2000, and from there either upgrade the 2000 instance to 2008, or make a backup from 2000 that can be restored to a 2008 instance. If you have a backup of the 6.5 database you could restore that to a 2000 instance, and follow the same procedure to go to 2008. |
