we are experiencing the following error when backing up :

A nonrecoverable I/O error occurred on file "" BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
Reading some posts on this forum I can see the suggestions appear to be Space issue with destination or some sort of corruption.
We have ruled out the space issue, and we are plentiful in that.
With the corruption, is this corruption at data record level, or at the physical file level?

Does it happen every time, or just once? Likely just a network glitch/lost connection.

Not necessarily corruption.

Can you post the entire error message? Does it say "Network name no longer available"?

hi..

I think your database is corrupted that is why error is popping while taking Backup. Why don't you try file recovery software to recover the corrupted database.

Recover your database first and later you can take the Backup. One tool to which i am familiar is Remo Recover software. You can download the free demo version. Try this, hope this will work for you.

You can take the help of following URL
