I read an article with Ron Paul (don't know his credibility or authority) and one with Professor Schiller.I know when Bill Clinton resignd in 2001, there were a surplus in your finances but after George W Bush's tax reductions and the wars in Irak and Afghanistan the debt increased.Barack Obama continued spending money by saving banks and automobile industry.I thought USA leaved recession in May 2009?

| It depends on how you define "recession". I remember we were in a recession for about 6 months in 2008 before they finally said, hey, we're in a recession. There's an official definition somewhere but it's ridiculously selective, like if you have 99 out of its 100 points then you're not technically in a recession. |

My house value has already declined almost 30%, I'd almost welcome it dropping even more, I can probably write the whole thing off.  |

It turns out that fighting 3 wars at a time is kind of expensive, as is taking on the bad debts of huge poorly managed companies, not to mention paying interest on all existing debts.Not sure where it all ends, but it doesn't seem like it's going to be pretty.CODO ERGO SUM |

| house prices aren't dropping. they're normalizing. everyone thought that housing will go up forever and of course it didn't.To have sustainable housing (not a bubble) the price of living quarters for a 4 person family can't exceed more than 3x-4x the average familiy income.Combine that with the fact that since cca 1983 the US GDP started becoming more and more disconnected from the ammount of borrowing and you have a serious problem.All of this hit the wall in 2007 and then the print more money, borrow more money came into play when all you needed to do is let the "too big to fail" actually fail and you'd be on the up right now.it took cca 25 years and there's no way to feel better until at least 2025.that's what you get from living outside your means. and this isn't just a US problem. If I had my way, the feds would fund infastructure fully, education fully and military defense fully. All other stuff can find another way. Cut foreign aid and start funding domestic aid! | USA is a fascinating country and I like visiting a lot. But when it comes to politics and economics (both foreign and domestic) I really don't get it and I haven't for a very long time. For example when it comes to health care. Why on earth doesn't a country make sure that it's own tax paying citizens are able to keep paying tax?? | Probably Lumbago because we are already paying for a federal health care system for our lower income earners, (Medicaid and Medicare) that lose billions in fraud and poor management as it is. I honestly don't have any answers on how to fix it though. It is such a beast that it might be too late to pull it back in.Hey, it compiles. |
