In sql server 2008 installation wizard which option i have choose to upgrade from sql server 2008 RTM version to R2 Standard Edition. Pls advise |

i have licensed copy. i am asking about which option i need to choose in installation wizard to upgrade from rtm to r2 SE. |

I mean you need to get the licensed version for R2.You wont get it in the old installation of your Sql Server 2008 edition.PBUH |

Just remember that when you upgrade RTM to R2, it upgrades the database version. You will no tbe able to restore a R2 bak to a SQL 2008 RTM server.I have done cluster upgrades from sql 2008 to 2008 r2 and it is pretty easy. Fail instances to one node, start with passive. Fail back to upgraded node and patch the new passive. I would imagine it is like that for a standalone installation. |
