Can I use an access front-end to an sql backend and use stored procedures in sql.

Basically my question is if I will be able to link access reports to a stored procedure in sql as the record-set to retrieve the data for the report.

Yes.
Try a search in google for
access reports stored procedure

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
SSIS can be used in a similar way.

Yes.
Unless you need to store data locally in your Access database, consider creating an Access Data Project instead of a standard Access Database.

Yes.
An access data project has all of the forms and reports of an Access database, but does not store any data locally. All querying and non-VB processing is performed on the database server, (as well as all security validations).
