I was just being a wise guy Brett. Don't take it the wrong way brother.I'll have been married for 18 years in January.Congratulations to you and your bride! As to the question, none of us know what she will appreciate like you do. Jewelry? Maybe. I think a cruise pretty much every year after 15 is in order (and yeah, i know, you just went to fla) but still...A nice vacation with just the 2 of you and something special that will touch her is in order, whether it be a piece of art, a piece of jewelry, or maybe just a fancy dinner in a place the two of you have never been, or her favorite resteraunt. The main thing is that this is your opportunity to remind her how wonderful she is and how special she is to you! |

A cool thing I did a number of years ago, when we couldn't get away, was to take my wife to a few fancy dress shops, let her try on clothes, pick out whatever she wanted.99 times out of 100 I'll tell you that sounds like a boring day, but it was really cool -- and I got to see her in all those hot dresses! Then we went out for a fancy dinner. Was a great way to spend the day. |

So I suppose buying something you saw on late night TV is out of the question ...I'm with the Jewellery approach. Find a good jeweller, and work with him/her to make something. Cheaper than in-store (IME), better quality gems, and WAY more satisfying looking at individual stones and settings and creating something personal, although I may be spoilt by having a really exceptional Jeweller locally - heck, add a transatlantic flight to the celebration? |

We have sometimes gone away for a weekend but to somewhere nearby - last time was to the city I was working in at the time. I know it sounds a bit odd as it was somewhere we both knew quite well but we really saw a side of the place that we normally wouldn't and had a great time. I guess in your case it might be a couple of nights in New York doing the tourist thing.-----------I used to think I wasn't a morning person but it never got better in the afternoon |

I hired a tour guide for the day, a few years back, when we had some (American as it happens) business folk visiting our office, and I thought they'd like something "alternative" to do on the first day to combat jet-lag.Learnt an embarrassing amount about the local area I have lived in all my life!! |

... and the reason the aristocracy pronounces "House" as "H'ice" is that they have several, and the plural of "Mouse" is "Mice" |
