I can't. Most stuff gets answered before I have a chance. It's really only the nastier corruption questions I have a chance on. ;-)--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

Gail, you've been a great help to me on both sites. A question for you, but it's one I'd love to ask all the regular contributors - why'd you do it? (Hint - "I like to" is an acceptable answer!!) |

I'd love to ask all the regular contributors - why'd you do it?Yeah, I was thinking about it.Maybe the reason is that I like it if someone is giving kudos to me...The other reason is the postcounter No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

You are hijacking a congratulations thread! That's a new low However, in answer to your question:By answering people's questions you learn a *lot* more about SQL (and sql server) than you would just by reading other people's answers. And -- it's quite gratifying when you solve someone's problem that they've been struggling with for ages.Charlie===============================================================Msg 3903, Level 16, State 1, Line 1736The ROLLBACK TRANSACTION request has no corresponding BEGIN TRANSACTION |

Yep, for me it's all about helping others. And the chicks too, chicks dig guys with skills. You know, like SQL Skills. |

It's fun. It's an excellent way to learn a hell of a lot about SQL, especially things that you won't work with yourself. It's very satisfying to solve other people's problems (isn't that what development is all about?) especially if you're stuck in a job where you can't do a lot of that.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

Oh, you'd be surprised what a conversation piece they can be, in the right hands. |
