Boy do I hate this...I mean I can see some benefit...but every time I hit eneter to go to a new line, 95% of the time it jams some sheet in there that I don't want

Is there a way to turn it off?

makes no Sense to me

I have the same problem with TAB - from memory the issue was: it accepts the currently highlighted entry in Intellisense list - instead of just inserting a TAB

I've just stuck with QA and only use SSMS if I have to ...

There's a button on one of the toolbars to turn it off.

It's better in R2 than in 2008, and by better I mean I haven't put my fist through my monitor yet.

Turn it off, buy Redgate's SQLPrompt. (and I don't just say that because Redgate gives me free software)

TOOLS / OPTIONS / All Languages / GENERAL

uncheck "autolist members"

And don't buy Red Gate's SQL Prompt. Send Gail $10 instead. Or send it to me. A far better investment either way.

and, yeah, I hate the intellisense too.

Trouble is ... it would be handy at times. But not all the time ...

I have an SProc that lists all columns with meta descriptions, joins, etc. It outputs in a variety of formats useful for Cut & Paste. That has served me well for years ... Intellisense could surely improve on that; but it hasn't done, yet, at least not for me (or you guys by the sound of it).

I used to use something called SQL Prompt when it was in some sort of Beta - maybe even from some folk that then sold it to Red Gate. Perhaps I'll take another look.

Yup. Same tool per Gail. And it's far better and more stable now. They have even begun to extend/copy it into an Oracle equivalent.

No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die.

well...I found something I like...it underlines problems in code like spell checker, and then gives you context help as to what it thinks the problem is...that's pretty cool
