Hi,

Is it possible to configure SQL CDC so that change data is stored in a separate database from the source database?

The benefit I am aiming for is so that the bloaty change data could then be stored on a sql server residing on cheaper disk space.

Thanks,
Gordopolis

What is SQL CDC?

No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die.

CDC = Change Data Capture, a new feature of SQL 2008. There is not much to it - see this short (15 minute) webcast for the lowdown on it:

I found that interesting!
So I have searched a little bit.
I found that it is possible to change the filegroup and maybe that could be your way.
Look here: http://www.mattwilhoite.com/journal-matt/2010/1/19/using-cdc-for-rollbacks-in-sql-2008.html
and search for "can move them to a different filegroup"
