Hi..
do u have any idea about this error message

'An error occured while eastablishing a connection to the server.the failure may be casued by the fact that under the default settings SQL server does not allow the remote connections.'

i am trying to login to sql2005 from my local machine.

do i need to change any settings in remotedeskrop server????

Hello,

- Open SQL Server Management Studio on the server where SQL Server is installed (or SqlWb.exe).
- In Object Explorer, right click on the name of the instance and choose Properties.
- In Select a page, go to the Connections tab.
- Check Allow remote connections to this server.

Hi,..

thanx for ur reply..

i gone through wat u said but the box is already checked.

is there any other way to rectify this issue pls?


i open the two sql server connections in sql2005 management studio and When i am trying to copy the database from soure to destination in the remotdesktop
error message
need to enable the SQL server agent

start->all programs->Microsoft SQL Server 2005->Configuration Tools->SQL Server Surface Area Configuration->Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections->Remote Connections->Local and remote connections

Hi Peter..

i have done exactly wat u have said,but finally i am getting an error message

Alert failed

Aditional Information
Set enable failed for server protocal;
Access Denied.

finishing up with this message.

any change i have todo peter?
