Last night was rough. We went to bed late, my daughter was up too many times, and we had to get up early for my son's doctor's appointments. Both kids are sleeping right now, so just taking the opportunity to spend time on the computer. It doesn't happen that much anymore, except email and FB via my iPhone.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog"Let's begin with the premise that everything you've done up until this point is wrong." |

"Post, feed, nap, post. "Tara is a woman, unlike us blokes she will be multi-tasking.Post & Feed, Nap, Post & Feed ... I've been meaning to ask how the little'un was getting on. Good to hear your news, and our benefit as you are around here more So far I have been luck with teenage daughters ... they don't get grumpy, and are constantly achieving things that amaze me. They have no interesting in doing my coding for me though |

Depending on their age, wait. Age 15 is usually when it starts and seems to last about 3 years - not constantly but enough where it feels like it sometimes. My girls are now 20 and 15. The oldest is now "cool, calm and collected" (although it might help being away at school!). The younger one is showing the same traits as my older one at this age. It does get better, but you have to deal with a little of the worst first!! Still, wouldn't trade them for all the tea in China. As far as an interest in my coding, they think I'm a geek, and that's cool, but this geek IS paying for school, clothes, food and shelter (plus all the little girlie incidentals and outings) so I can't be that bad. Oldest now 16.5 - no chance of her becoming a grumpy teenager. Very calm and collected already (also "away" at school, which I agree probably helps)Youngest nearly 11 (and also "away at school" - clearly we feel we would fail parenting classes!!). Not at the potentially-grumpy age yet, and she is far more earnest ... but, she's very caring ("What would you like for your birthday, iPod? Jack Wills stuff?" ... "I'd like to adopt an animal at the zoo pls" ) so I have my doubts that she will be a stroppy-little-madam either. Time enough for me to be proven wrong though! |
