Hello All,

We have got a critical problem while attaching a database for which I greatly appreciate your help in resolving.

We had a database called Reporting with Reporting.mdf, Reporting.ldf and Reporting1.ldf. We detached this databases from the server (Sql server 2008).

We then unfortunately lost one of the ldf files (Reporting.ldf). Now, We are unable to attach this database only with the help of mdf and one of the ldf files.

We learnt (after this mistake) that SQL Server would generate a new ldf file only if there was one ldf used.

Could anyone please help me getting the database back?

Thanks a million for your help

No backup? If you have one restore it. If you don't, why the hell not?

This should help: http://sqlinthewild.co.za/index.php/2009/06/09/deleting-the-transaction-log/
