I was asked this question in the interview: If a backup starts at 6pm and ends at 7 pm. What does the backup contains? (Changes made till 6 or changes made till 7)

I gave a vague answer, but I really don’t know the answer.

AHA! TRICK QUESTION! He didn't mention whether it was a full, differential, log or filegroup backup.

At least that would be my reply. You're right if it's a full database backup (I wanted Ravi to LOOK IT UP though)

I checked BOL but didn’t find the answer. I am sure BOL has the answer somewhere. BOL is an ocean. Sometimes it becomes difficult to find answers in BOL for tricky questions.
