Can someone point me in the direction of how I would go about creating a job to send out a status notification? I would like it to include things like how many records have been processed, how many times a certain job successfully ran, etc. I am not sure how to begin.

Thanks,

Rhonda

You can use Database Mail to send email.

OK that kind gives me an idea where to begin. Does anyone happen to have any examples? I really don't know how to go about doing this and searches aren't really coming up with any help. Perhaps I'm not searching on the correct thing.

Thanks,

Rhonda

Database Mail is documented in SQL Server Books Online.

I guess I'm not really being clear. The sending of the mail part is not the part I am concerned about. I'm more concerned about not really knowing how to go about gathering the statistics that I need. Are there any system stored procedures to do it or do I have to write something from scratch?

Thanks

Custom scripts will need to be written. You'll need to go into more depth on what you want to email in order for us to point you in the right direction.
