Hi,I have set up DB mirroring. Log file is growing in principal database, I am taking transaction log back up regularly still transaction log is getting cleared it is just at the same size as it was before. Please advise how I can handle this problem. I was hoping that if I take back up of tran log that will clear the size of log file but it is not happening. Thanks |

Backing up the transaction log does not shrink the file size, it only clears the space within the log file. If the log file is growing too much you should set a maximum file size, and/or back up the log more frequently. If you shrink it, it will just grow again based on the transactions you're processing. |
