We have just upgrade to SP3 4035 this week end and the database mail is no longer working.
I got the error:

success 2009-10-06 09:27:03.257 Activation successful.
information 2009-10-06 09:27:03.867 DatabaseMail process is started
information 2009-10-06 09:33:15.413 The mail queue was started by login "LU40MONT0000\Polo".
error 2009-10-06 09:34:22.997 The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2009-10-06T09:34:23). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (The specified string is not in the form required for an e-mail address.). )

information 2009-10-06 09:45:23.067 DatabaseMail process is shutting down

Any clue?

The addresses haven't changed : the addresses remained unchanged : they worked all fine before SP3 and are no longer working today.

Any unusual characters in the mail addresses?
Any unusual character encoding involved?

Under Managing Account (Database Mail Configuration Wizard)
I had the following in the reply email:
to person1@md.com; person2@md.com

by changing it to
to person1@md.com, person2@md.com

It solved the problem (changing the ";" to ","). What is strange is that I didn't get an issue before moving to sp3.

I have now another problem, when I receive the email and click on reply, only person1@md.com is showing and not both. Any idea?

When you receive the mail do you see both "person1" & "person2" in the "cc" list?

also are you "replying" or "replying to all"?

I don't use "datebase mail" so my questions are coming from a "general probing" angle rather than from any particular epxerience/insight into this product.
