When I use " add an existing package" to the project my instance of BIDS keeps adding a (1) as part of package names and saving dupes of the package. These are file based so when I check the dir where these dtsx files are I see dupes. Even though there should only be one. Its almost as though BIDS keeps a cache of package names and doesn't correct the cache when a package is removed from the project. Consequently it creates this dupe to avoid conflicts. Its as though it wants to hold on to the name regardless of the package actually being in the project. Has anyone else seen this? Very strange. ThanksThomas |

I think this happens only if the package is in the same folder. I have just added an existing package from a different folder and there is no (1). No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

webfred - that was exactly right. When I add a package from another directory the whole process works. Very strange. Thanks for the reply ! |
