Hi all,I am seriously thinking of immigrating to the USA but this is just a dream right now.I've heard and seen (online anyway) so much about this great country. I am a great lover of the outdoors... I want to live somewhere where it's nice and sunny most of the year and got great parks, golf courses or beaches.oh... and a nice IT job. Can someone recommend me some places to consider? Thanks. |

At this time they all play golf or walk in the park or drink pina colada at the beach because they have a nice IT job.OK, now I will stop kidding - excuse me but could not resist... No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

I recently moved to the Mid-west. If you can handle winter, it's fantastic. Since I didn't have snow when I was a kid I get a big kick out of snowy winters. The summers are mild and very enjoyable. An infinite universe is the ultimate cartesian product. |

Maybe Southern California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, or North Carolina.Northern California has most of what you want, except sunny most of the year.Hawaii has everything you want, except the IT jobs and one of the highest costs of living anywhere.CODO ERGO SUM |

Thanks for the suggestions. I forgot to mention that I have a young family so a family friendly area is a must. Does your list still stand Michael? |

Next door to the Manson family may be a bit iffy ;-).You may want to take a vacation in some of the areas listed above, just to see them up close, before you decide to move to one of them. Every silver lining has a cloud. |

I'd stay away from the hills just north of LA. They are on fire. elsasoft.org |

You should come to Norway instead...it industry is booming, interest rates are the lowest ever, no need for a green-card (for eu/eec citizens), you can ski all you like and people are (usually) not blowing each others brains out randomly.- Lumbago |
