I get error 3417 when trying to start SQL service. I've already tried to decrompess my data files, add 'network service' to data folder, and tried to switch the sql server 'log on' from network service to local account and interface with desktop, all to no avail. It seems all the internet fixes that work for everyone else are not working for me, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me out?its windows xp sp3, sql server 2005 .Matt Evans |

yes this is sqlexpress. service account was originally the login then i tried switching it to local system account. In eventviewer it references the master database files .mdf .ldf are corrupt and need to be rebuilt. I tried a recovery tool to rebuild the master database, but that didn't work out. I've googled this error and it seems many people have had this, but none of the fixes have worked so far in my case. When i run the sqlserver.exe it says the installation is corrupt or has been tampered with.Matt Evans |
