I don't ask simple questions that someone could memorise, except a couple as 'icebreakers'. I prefer to give candidates scenarios where they need to tell me what they're going to do in a specific situation and why. I feel it gives a better idea of a person's skills than asking a bunch of questions that it's possible they can answer in theory, but have no idea how to actually apply.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

I agree with GilaMonster, I would much rather be given a situation to explain as it sorts the wheat from the chaff, which is very handy when you're a contractor. |
