I've been fighting this mindset at my current job since I got here. Typically what would happen is the users would come up with a solution and have IT implement it. Since the IT leadership was weak and inept, they would make us implement poor solutions.After putting my foot down with the users and redesigning a few poor performing systems, the user base started to come around to the idea that they should let us solve the problem rather just implement their solution.It's amazing how screwed up a place can get when management encourages obsequious behavior.An infinite universe is the ultimate cartesian product. |
