I read through internet articles and understood that it for ditributing the transactions across linked servers. But I am confused how to configure this in cluster environment.I already configured MSDTC resource and placed in default cluster group. I have a SQL cluster group named DB1. Now my cluster group and DB1 are hosted on same cluster node. When I trying to add a new resource for DTC in DB1 group, it is giving an error that duplicate resources can not be created.Does it mean that is it enough if I have one DTC resource created per cluster? My distributed translations are failing with below error and I am not sure how it is related with DTC.OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "DB1" returned message "No transaction is active.".Msg 7391, Level 16, State 2, Procedure spSyncspEmpBackground_test, Line 7The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "DB1" was unable to begin a distributed transaction. Can any one help me? |

thats right there can be only one MSDTS per cluster (until sql 2005). In SQL 2008 on win 2008 you can have 1 MSDTC per group I think..Dinakar Nethi************************Life is short. Enjoy it.************************http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/dinakar/ |
