I have a strange problem. I have SQL Server 2008 Express with tools installed with a named instance of SQLEXPRESS. I have not been able to get computers to connect to my DB even though I have TCP enabled. I think it is a firewall issue but disabling the firewall did not help. My thought was to unistall. However, the rules check fails each time on the need for a reboot. It does not matter how many times I reboot this check always fails. I cannot add/repair/or uninstall. Google has been no help to me on this. Any ideas?

does your instance accept the local connections?
what exactly error do you receive on the rule check?

Thanks, Vadym

Rule "Restart Computer" failed. A computer restart is required. You must restart this computer before installing SQL Server.

This is on the setup support rules screen.
