I'm just checking a new install of 2008 on my local PC. I'm looking at Activity Monitor. A number of website mention the following panes:Overview - Active User Tasks - Resource Waits - Data File I/O -Recent Expensive Queries - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175518.aspxI don't have "Active User Tasks" I've googled but found no help. Is this only available in some editions? My version is:Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (RTM) - 10.0.1600.22 (Intel X86) |

Yes, it's not in an obvious place! In Server Management Studio, right-mouse-click on the server & select "Activity Monitor". |

dexter cheers for reply - I can open Activity Monitor - it's what is displayed in the monitor I want to check. Do you have an "Active User Tasks" pane in your Activity Monitor? |
