Hi, it would be great if anybody knew the answer to any of the following - all apply to sql server 2008

1) If I purchased a licence for a 32bit sql server 2008 standard, would the same licence work on a 64bit server if i was to upgrade hardware at a later date.

2) If I did a complete sql back up of db on 32bit software version, could i restore this to a server running 64bit version, and vice versa

3) If I purchased a 5 user licence standard and installed on a web server would it only let 5 users access it at one time ( I wanted to test the performance on a busy server vs older version we have before taking the plunge and purchasing a hefty 2 processor liccence)

many thanks

Oli

-Unless number of processor doesn't change on new system. 2) If I did a complete sql back up of db on 32bit software version, could i restore this to a server running 64bit version, and vice versa

-- Thats what CAL is, moreover u dont want to get into legal things by running more than 5 even if it does let you do that.
many thanks

Oli
