I've installed a default instance of sql server 2005 on my local machine and I'm having trouble getting it to connect to my machine.for example typing in "." in Server Name. I did mixed mode when I installed. Any advice is appreciated.chul |

Server Type : Database EngineServer Name : .Authentication : Windows AuthenticationERROR:Cannot connect to ..An error has occured while connecting to the server.When connecting to SQL server 2005, this may be caused by the fact that under the default settings sql server does not allow remote connections.....But I'm not connecting remotely, I am just trying to get a connection to my local machine.Thank you.Chul Kim |
