I've attempted to install 2008 on my workstation several times today and I cannot seem to get SSMS installed. I have had generic errors that tell me SQL express management tools failed but there is nothing that I can find that tells me why it failed or how to get around it and install just SSMS Has any one else run into this?An infinite universe is the ultimate cartesian product. |

You have to completely uninstall SQL Server 2005 and earlier. Also uninstall any pre-RTM versions of SQL Server 2008 first. Now try. E 12°55'05.25"N 56°04'39.16" |

RTM editions. The only SQL 2008 anything I had installed on my laptop was the BOL-only release they did, and I still made sure to remove that before I started any installs. You should _always_ remove a CTP product before installing the RTM. That's a given these days...Your friendly High-Tech Janitor:http://grayburn.wordpress.com |
