Have u ever named your stored procedure, begin with "sp"??
I just recently found that:
It's not good to use "sp_"prefix in user-defined stored procedure names
why??

I just checked the IP address of willow_mimi and MikeZ as I had a suspicion. They are the same person.

willow_mimi == MikeZ

That's really low, willow_mimi, to compliment your own post as another user.

I was just thinking that responding to yourself with a different username is a sqlusa tactic.

It's not SQLUSA.

Plus their pictures are different. willow_mimi/MikeZ wins in the looks department.

Then lets save some time and just copy/paste the entire contents of Books Online into a post. I'm sure there's stuff in there that some people don't know.
And be sure to plug your blog while you are at it.

This post regarding not using "sp_" is obviously common knowledge, but I would be interested if anyone has a article that lists accepted standards for naming different objects. (I.e Stored Procedure = Sproc_, Function = fn_ or F_, etc).

Everyone's style is different. Here is what we use:

Sprocs: usp_ for applications, rsp_ for reports, and isp_ for internal DBA stuff
Functions: udf_
Views: v_

There are people who hate prefixes like these, such as Graz (owner of the site). I believe he's got an article on it.

I don't care except for views and table-valued functions as I'd like to know by looking at the query that it's a view or a table-valued function rather than a regular table.

Ha, worked on a few dbs where through some migration/upgrade it was decided to prefix tbl_ to some views where the actual table no longer exists. good times.
