Hi All,I have couple of questions on how to go about installing SP2 on an Active/Passave sql server 2005 cluster1.I will start the installation process from the active node, and does it automatically update the 2nd node??2.Are there any manual steps that i need to take care ones the installation is complete3.The serviceaccounts that we use to run all the services are not having any direct login permissions.Do we have to login with this account or is it fine to run the install from any admin account that is an admin on both the boxes??4.Finally how can i recover if something fails in the process of install??also please direct me if there is any specific documentation in this regardsThanks for any support |

1. yes for clustered components.2. not really, but I prefer to failover cluster to ensure all nodes are in same sp level.3. need logon with account that has local admin rights on all nodes.4. backup all dbs first.5. take look at readme file first.6. need to apply it on passive node also for non-clustered components. |

1. Yes but it won't update the client tools on the passive node, so if you've installed the client tools on both nodes, you should run SP2 over there as well.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog |
