After tearing my hair out this week and trying various options I have decided to seek some advice as databses are not one of my strongest pointsFirst a little background, the database is to replace individual spreadsheets which hold this information.MainGarment TableStyleNo PKVersion PKCustomerCreatedDateEtcEach style also has 2 Grids:Grid 1 Initial measuring Points Target ActualChest Body length (LC-Welt) 58.5 59UnderarmSkirtdepthThe various measuring points may vary from garment to garment and additional notes have to be held against each measuring point as shown in brackets above.I have setup an additional 2 tables. Table1 being a simple lookup table containing the measuring points.FieldIDDescriptionTable 2 being the many side with the field details and measurementsTable 2 Styleno PKFieldID PKVersion PKAdditional TextDesign tool is VS2005 and main screen is a multitabbed form. The brick wall I have hit is regarding the 2 grids I want to have in this form.Grid 1 is based on table 2 above which in theory is fine.Grid 2 is similar to Grid 1 but has the extra dimension of sizes included:Layout of Grid has to be similar to the following: S M L XLChest 56 59 62 Body Length 74 75 76Because of the laout of this grid I have been looking at commercial components and have found one that lays it out correctly if all the fields are hardcoded in one table. But I cant seem to get the table design right. Can anyone point me to any articles or samples or have any thoughts? Any help will be gratefully received. |

Ok.Because the data is too dynamic I have decided the best way to do it is to invest in the farpoint grid control for displaying the image in a spreadsheet control. |
