In Sweden, parents are paid (by government) to stay home for up to 450 days with their newborns.So at the moment, Jennie is at home with Isabelle (now 5 months) and I am at work.

First 360 days are paid up to 80% of your latest annual tax revenue (with a ceiling of about $2000-$2500 per month after taxes.)60 days are for dad only! And cannot be transferred to mom.90 days of the 450 are paid by $30 per day.

| I'm returning to work on Monday. Some companies only provide 6-8 weeks (depends on type of delivery) of paid leave for the moms. My company provides the 6-8 weeks and then an additional 6 weeks paid time. They also provide 30 days before the due date. After the 12-14 weeks, you can do another 6 weeks but it's unpaid and can be supplemented with vacation time. I decided to take the 12 weeks paid time and will use my vacation at other times. My husband's company doesn't provide any paid time so he had to use his vacation days. Luckily he is able to work from home close to 100% of the time, so he's been fortunate to spend this much time with our son.I've been posting here during my maternity leave to keep my mind sharp on SQL Server. It was either that or clean the house while he was sleeping. Thanks everyone for the congrats!
