Could some please explain me how do we hanlde manual fail over in case of high protection database mirroing set up with out any witness server. Lets say the primary database goes down and we have to bring the mirror db up, then first of all we have to restore the mirror db( one in restore mode) with recovery.but is it possible to restore the mirror db with recovery if primary goes down.

Thanks

Well, First of all you have to restore full backup to Mirrored server in Norecovery Mode and take finally restore transaction log backup to it in Norecovery mode. Then after you configure the mirror ,you can manually failover by pressing failover button.

Hope this helps.
