has anyone installed the 2008 November CTP side by side with 2005?

this is not for a prod server or anything, I just want to play around with the CTP at home. I'm hoping it won't clobber or otherwise ruin my 2005 SP2 instance though.

I don't have VMWare or similar. Otherwise I'd use that.

You can install sql2k8 engine but not client tools, and sql2k5 ssms doesn't work for sql2k8.

not even the query editor? i can't run queries against a 2008 instance using 2005 tools?

if not there's not much point. I guess I'll have to get vmware.

Sql2k8 client doesn't like any previous version of sql, neither server nor client.

You really need a VM for these at this point....

VMWare makes a good freebie, and MS has Virtual PC which is a very good solution as well (and insanely cheap, IIRC).

VPC wasn't free when I bought it a couple years ago...but I think I only paid $45 or so for it...

When you run part1, it'll combine all 4 parts as a virtual machine file.
