Graz, I know you hate the thought of modifying Snitz but something I'd like to see, and who knows: it may be easy!

I click on a thread

I start reading ...

Someone else posts a Reply

... I make a cup of tea (or more practically take a while constructing my reply)

... I post a reply

I don't bother to read what I just wrote, I move on to the next post in Active Post list.

What would be good:

An alert if there was a Reply between the version I loaded, and the Reply I posted. (Anything later will show up in the Active Posts list as having a different last-reply-poster to my own UserID (I ignore posts in Active Posts list if the last last-reply-poster was my UserID)

(Another site I use loops me round again when that happens, I get my proposed-reply in a TEXTAREA and the full thread below it - so I can read what has been newly added, and THEN post my [revised if necessary] reply, which is a nice touch)

Yeah, is AskSQLTeam posted a that would work - because I wouldn't be the last-reply-poster any more.

Another of Kristen’s diabolical schemes to increase his post count.

Interesting idea. I'll take a look but at first glance I'm guessing this won't be easy.

well before i answer the topic i look at the number of replies on active topics page.
with my answer it should be +1 afterwards. if it's more than +1 then i know someone replied before me.

Gotcha.

Its to do with how long it takes me to reply. See revised Work Flow Definition above

well there are two paths to enlightenment:
1. write shorter posts
2. don't drink tea so much

"there are two paths to enlightenment"

and a few more no doubt: Don't answer phone. No pee-ing on company time. No chatting, thinking, cutting-nails, abstract-humming or reading Joel Spolsky's Blog. Nor Tara's. Not researching any question asked for fear that some little runt will pre-answer the question. (Yes, I mean YOU Peso ... )

Jealous? Me? Pah! I-bot-therefore-I-am ...

I do that, but I don't wait for the refresh - rare that I've been sniped, but if I have I then miss it in the Active list.

No big deal though ...
