whoa - have you been living in a cave for the last 6 months or what?

sql server management studio replaces EM and QA.

Yes...kinda hard to install when desktop services can't rollout the xp s/p 2

So if SSMS replaces both, where is the place you would write code?

SSMS. You can still use QA for SQL 2005 servers, but EM won't connect to them.

The Object Explorer feature of Query Analyzer will not work well with SQL 2005, but regular queries are just fine.

And scripting is broke to my experience.
But for just firing up something quickly to write queries QA gets the job done.

bail QA. Get used to SSMS for writing your code. I actually prefer it now - especially since I got a new laptop that is about 5x faster than my last. If you don't have a decently fast system, you will hate SSMS because it is basically a pig.

yeah...I hear ya all...move forward...just that 1st day jitters

Got to tell ya, not very intuitive and very busy

But I'm getting used to it

And Attaching a database couldn't have been easier when I added AdventWorks to my "server"

Still, I'm pretty psyched

How come I can't find BOL though...I downloaded the July version, and it installed, but the menu item says it needs to install it

Bizarre

F1 still works for me, and that is all I've ever used to fire up BOL.
