It's cyclical.Odd but you seem to get a lot of unrelated questions on the same topic.Translaction log filling upDynamic sqlaudit trailsdisk space estimationClusteringTrees......Some of it's probably due to homework but it's odd. It's almost as though a load of managers will see something on a site and ask their developers about it who will all post the questions here.Could just be that a lot of companies have the budget to start new projects at the same time and the developers are all out of their depth.Dynamic sql could be due to redeveloping systems in .net and v2005 - the old systems been working happily for some time and the people who knew what they were doing are no longer invloved. Also with v2005 I suspect a lot of managers don't realise the principles are still valid and are hiring people who have read a v2005 book rather than have 10 years experience in sql server.Who would you take - the cheap person with 6 months v2005 experience or 5 years v2000 at twice the rate - and who would you put in charge.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |

When you google for Dynamic SQL, SQLTeam comes up as no 3 & 4. And the top 2 is www.sommarskog.se/dynamic_sql.html. Strange why the posters did not go for this site but SQLTeam ? We will refer them to that site anyway KH |

Yes, it didn't take long to realise that my last post wasn't a wise one! quote: The amazing part is assuming he spend one hour per game that is 1262 hours glueing to screen, thinking of moves, strategy,
You obviously didn't look at my rating (http://gameknot.com/rating_graph.pl?elwoos for those sad enough to be interested)! I think you're assuming a considerably greater level of skill than is actually there quote: pulling hairs etc.
That's why I'm bald! I've worked hard to lose that many games-----------Don't worry head. The computer will do all the thinking from now on. |
