Don writes "Can you please tell me why Windows 98se is running a Windows NT program? For some reason I have "inetinfo.exe" runnin on my computer and it has me slowed down considerably.I am operating a 1.4 gig processor with 512 meg of ddr ram. My computer is operating slower than a 100 mhz processor with only 32 meg of ram. PLEASE tell me how to get rid of it. Also, I have several Windows NT drivers loaded. This has me stumped, hopefully you have the answer. Thank you for your time. Don" |

inetinfo.exe is IIS (Internet Information Server), which also runs as Personal Web Server. Your CPU is maxed out because you've been infected with Code Red or Code Red II. Go to www.microsoft.com and search for "Code Red" and install the security patch. You may need to do it several times before it completely fixes your computer. You should also install the Nimda patches as well.Just out of curiosity, what does any of this have to do with SQL Server?Edited by - robvolk on 12/19/2001 09:23:25 |
